This is a post and I agree with everything this post says!

So I will post about each one of these numbers
1. I agree, this is a good way to make your horse horrible and hate riding. I always see people who are constantly on the reins and pulling at their horses mouths and it irratates me so much! If you really need to hang onto something that bad ride in a western saddle, unless you can ride and keep your hands still when not telling your horse where to go, hold on to the saddle horn or something! I see riders who try to keep a loose rein, but don't have the seat to keep from bouncing around and pulling on their horses mouths, my advice to those people are A. Hold onto the horn (i don't care how stupid it looks), I would rather you (and even myself) hang onto the horn than yank on my horses mouth. People just need to stay out of their horses mouth they are always nagging the horse and pulling on his face, or when people constantly bump their horse, yes there is a time and a place for that, but not while riding, if you cant get a responce in a few seconds or more, then you obviously missed something and need to go back and fix your training. Quit Nagging your horse leave him alone unless you are directing them, leave your hands out of their mouths and quit kicking the poor thing.
2. 99.99999% of the time "horse problems" are really stupid people problems, so before you go correcting your horse, correct yourself, humans are selfish, and don't want to admit when they are wrong, if you want to even start becoming a good horse person blame everything on yourself until you are 100% sure its not you, it may be your hands, your legs, your attitude, whats around you, your tack, your horse may be having a bad day, or your just a bad rider. So many people just want to blame their horse, people horses don't do things for no reason at all! So many people jump on their horses and correct them and in fact the horse never did anything wrong at all, it was the stupid humans fault! I see people who will smack and kick and whip their horse if they stop to poop, I think its just mean, people are like "they CAN poop and walk at the same time", ya, but you can walk and poop, what if you had to do that and wanted to stop and somebody wanted to kick and whip you? Doesn't sound so fun, just because you can do something doesnt mean you should....
3. I see people do this all the time, yes horses learn by repeating things, but some people just need to learn when to quit. and I see people who ride their horses round and round in an arena for 3-4 hours doing the SAME THING! I hate it, thats like making a person ride a bike around in a circle! People can be so ignorant and I hate to see the horses suffer, take your horse on a trail ride, I see people who NEVER ride outside of an arena because they are "dressage horses, barrel horses, a WP horse" you are all stupid people horses get bored just like we do, give them a choice, im sure your horse would like to go on a nice trail ride every once and awhile than spend hours and hours going braindead in an arena, even our lesson horses that work 3-5 hours a day, usualy get a varity of people, and spend their whole day doing different things with each lesson group, and we go on trail rides, and they arn't even ridden the whole lesson, because we spend some time just standing, and spend time talking about God and our weekly bible verse. I hate it when people don't think like a horse, yes they would obviously not be ridden at all, but horses can learn to love their job! Heck Chuck was ridden 3 days straight for 1-2 hours, hes on a easily 20-30 acre pasture, and every time the horses see us they still come running, even if we have ropes and everything in our hands to catch them, they don't try to avoid us. I see people who will push their horses so hard and the horses get fed up with the rider, they get bored, they get tired, just like people, give them a break, a good rider will know when to end the lesson.
4. I HATE this one HATE HATE HATE, if you don't have control of your horse in a snaffle or short shanked curb bit you shouldn't be riding at all. I see people say "my horse needs a harsher bit, but in fact the rider is just a crappy rider who can't control their horse and is scared because they can't. If your horse needs something more than that you need help, a trainer, lessons, or get rid of your horses, I hate it when people think that getting spurs, a harsher bit, a whip, a tie down, or any of those other cheats to get your horse to "behave" If you need these things (with the exception of tie downs for ropers and very fine ques and I do mean very fine, you should be able to keep your legs almost completly still before you even THINK about wearing spurs on your horse and I will do a post about those later this week) anyways if you need these things, get help from sombody, or you horse will pay the price for your ignorance.
