Hey guys, so not much about horses in this one if any at all, but oh well if you don't want to read it then you don't have too.... Anyways we FINALLY got done detasseling, it was by far one of the hardest jobs I have done and with rolling my ankle and having to take awhile off on doctors orders it wasn't very fun, I had fun meeting new people though and it is almost a right of passage here where I live, you gota at least try it once, and I will say it was VERY HARD work, i have bad ankles, hip, knees and my back, but I made it through, thank goodness for pain killers and doctor giving me muscle relaxers, we get paid on the 4th and then we get another pay check after that with the other part of our pay plus our bonuses.....
Anyways summer trip was this week, there were 15 people that went and 6 of us were girls, me Kayla and Kalie (our presidents who are both senior twins) Raquel (my fellow co reporter) Tahana a good friend from conduct team, and my amazing friend Emile Wiese! We all had tons of fun, we spent some time traveling up to Wisconsin, we stopped at the National Farm Toy Museum, and The Field of Dreams movie sight, Tahana Wiese Raquel and I went and walked in the field a bit, (i still hate corn though, I got corn rash that even got to the point of bleeding one day out in the field), and watched some little kids play ball....
We had lunch and there and continued on and we finally got to our camp ground at Devils Lake State Park... we got all set up, and us 6 girls had to share one tent! It was very squished but it made for a fun night lol lots of giggling conversations about weird things and random stuff.... like a big sleep over.... we had hot dogs and brots for supper and the guys had to cook... then we all hung around the fire and made smores, the next day we got up early because us girls were cooking breakfast of bacon and eggs... we were all ready to go to America's Largest Park.... Noahs ark water park.... it has a very cool slide called the scorpion's tail, and it does an almost verticle loop and it starts in a tube where the floor drops out from under you I went up with Wiese but she chickend out on me only 10 feet from the top! I was one of only 3 people in our whole group to go on it! I also went on the surf machine called the flow rider, I was on one at America's largest indoor waterpark in Minnesota so I had a little experience, I can go on my belly and my knees, but I can not sit on it cross legged or ride it backwards! They instruct you on how to do diffrent stuff and your sopose to try it, and I tried and wiped out when I tried those, Wiese got to here knees for a few seconds before she wiped out... Dustin made it to his knees but I can't remember what he wiped out trying to do.... and then we went and went in the wave pool and someone had to be rescued! It kinda sucked because they had to turn off the waves but then they got turned back on after a bit, Wiese Raquel and Tahana sat in tubes Wiese likes it, and Raquel and Tahana do too, but I love swimming, Im a really strong swimmer, and so far this has been one of the best wave pools I have been in that has more than one wave... it was 7 and a half feet deep, so I couldn't even touch even at the lowest point during the waves.... but it was still fun.... Then we all went on a big splash down roller coaster thing... and on a big tube slide that has the big circular tubes that can fit like 5 people.. and it just was straight with dips in it... Tahana and Wiese went to the lazy river, and Raquel wanted to try something "scary" so we decided to go on Black Andaconda which is a water coaster, Raquel was very nervous because when we got in the tube they had to shut down the ride for a few minutes because the people in the tube before us were too light and got stuck at the bottom of one of the hills..... the person said that we were the test riders and I told them not to say that she was already scared enough... and we went on it, Raquel screamed at everything! but she made it through! I couldn't tell if she wanted to cry laugh or die at the bottom but she was glad she got it over with! Then we met up with Wiese and Raquel went on the drop cable and I tried it again for the second time that day, and I again couldn't hang on and fell lol then we went on a slide that was completly black and Wiese and Raquel screamed the whole way down, and the slide was a very wild and fun ride, Raquel and I smacked our heads togeather on it, it was another one of the big tube rides, Wiese was supper happy and excited, the guy at the bottom was like "I think she wants to go again, just a guess but I think she does" and we went again... then we went on congo bongo a relaxing big tube slide then left, we stopped by an outlet mall and some people bought stuff... then ate out and went back to the camp ground.. we hung out around the fire and had lots of in depth dicussions about life and stuff it was really interesting.... we all hit the hay early because we had to be leaving the camp ground at 8 so we could go on our last tour, we toured ABS which is american breeders service which is an artificial insemination company for cows... it was actually very interesting seeing the labs and stuff and we watched a collection and they had lots of dogs there... they are trained to keep the people to handle the bulls safe so if the bull puts their heads down the dogs bite their chin to make them keep their heads up so they cant get their head down and be able to throw the handler up into the air and then hurt them, and to help move the bulls down the aisles.... they use collies and healers and I did see one aulstralian sheperd there though too.... and then we went through Madison and looked around there, then ate and went home while stopping to buy souviners at the National Farm toy Museum.... we got back and unloaded and I signed the summer trip board for the first time we had a ton of fun and I can't wait for next year, I plan on getting enough points to go again... only the to 15 go unless someone backs out then the alternates get to go, but I wasn't even an alternate I was guarented a spot because I was one of the top 15.... I plan on being just as involved if not more involved in FFA this year than last! It was supper fun, I will upload pictures from the trip soon, they are almost all from the Museum because we were always busy! Look for those!
