So a few weeks ago I had a comment said to me by someone and they said/commented about how a girl had posted and she rides western...
My reply to that is so what? Shes not hurting the horse in any way, this was at a camp type thingy, so who knows maybe she has only ridden english before? Maybe she doesn't know any better, there are people that clueless out there, and you can inform them if you really think its a problem, and if its difficult for her, then I would rather she post than sit and plop all over the horses back and hurt his back..... but really as long as she isn't hurting the horse then its not a problem, tons of western riders post, its acutally a good way to start colts so they can rate your seat.... nothing wrong there + not your horse not your problem especially if the horse isn't being harmed.....
Next thing is tonight Roni and I watched this movie called Our Wild Hearts, and so far in my whole life the only thing that really isn't made up fiction is Heartland and War Horse.... those are the only two movies/tv shows that don't make me want to bang my head on a door...... that and maybe moondance alexander but even that is a little far fetched...... anyways I now realize why there are so many stupid clueless horse people out there who get hurt on/around horses and blame the horse.... people think that they will just magicly bond with the horse and can hop on it and do stupid stuff lol and they wonder why they get bucked off/thrown/kicked/stomped you don't hop on a wild mustang and just ride it, and when a horse rears up you don't fly 6 feet back and magicly rip the halter from the horses face..... lol stupid movies.....
Next is this is not how you haul a horse!!!!
stuff like this has been going on HDC so a few things about hauling horses....
- don't let your horses stick their head out the window good way to let them get there head hit off by another vehicle and they are more prone to getting hit with flying rocks etc....
- practice loading before you really have to go anywhere.... you never know with a new horse
- don't haul in hot tempratures especially if there is no ventilation, check your horses often and offer water
- before a long hot trip, feed your horse soaked hay and for a few weeks before flavor their water, it could be gatorade or kool-aid packets or apple cider vinigar that way you can make strange water taste farmiliar to your horse encouraging them to drink..... keep your horses hydrated....
Okay so the picture above, I mean really people wow good way to get yourself killed, I really love my horses but I will NEVER fully 100% trust them to not hurt me, horses are completly unpredictable animals, accidents can happen too, a dog could have run up and bit this horse, a fly could have bit it, a horn could have honked, the wind could have blown something by the horse or onto the horse any little thing could have happend and that girl would have been dead.... boom dead.... so just a warning for those of you who think you have a magical bond with your horse, you need to get bitten, kicked, reared on, and bucked off and get yourself a taste of reality Like they say you aint a cowgirl till youve fallen off 7 times.... hey thats a good topic for another post all of my falls lol or at least the interesting ones :) I have plenty of stories :) also this kinda goes along with one of the pictures below....
