The Pictures
Okay I gave you guys all day to think about these, if you didn't look at them before, look at my most recent post. The horses below may look pretty and fancy, but this is in fact, at least to me another form of abuse. This practice/training method is called Rollkur. This is the hyperflexion of the horses neck. This can cause many problems, it is harder for the horse to breath in, also the dramatic flexion of the poll is a important factor in dynamic obstruction of the URT (upper respiratory tract). Because of the huge power the lungs need to take in the air at such an angle the trachea and vocal folds begin to collapse. Another thing to consider a horse behind the vertical (which is also another term for rollkur) can not see where he is going, this alone could cause other major incidents were something go wrong. Excess salivation is caused by pressure on the parotid silavary gland from the flexion of the neck. Because the stress and pressure on the back of the scull new bone grows in, and causes the horse pain, that will be with them for the rest of their life. These horses are unbalanced, with large neck muscles and small flat back muscles. These horses become very sensitive in the poll area and the 1-4th vertebrae. Horses that have been ridden this way for a long time are more and more sensitive. Stop rollkur, watch for hyperflexion, excess salivation, and the rear leg of a diagonal pair being slow. Rollkur can hurt these horses and needs to be stopped. There are many effects of this training method other than mentioned here. An incident where the horses blood circulation to his tongue was cut off because of the rollkur training method. This was also called the "Blue Tongue" this was at the World Cup dressage qualifier in Odense, Denmark in October 2009. Please help stop this harsh training method by signing a petition at: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/473/457/394/stop-rollkur/ there goal is 2000 signatures please help reach that goal by signing today! I'm 1066th person so keep them coming please share this anywhere you can to help stop this.

Another note, I will hopefully be making a video on how to muck a stall tomorrow. Not a full clean out, but a muck out, my terms go: clean out= go clean out the big pieces of poop/pee spots Full clean out= change the bedding fully full muck out=cleaning almost every speck of poop we can find I will show you a clean out and a full muck out tomorrow so look for that!
