Hey guys, so the party was awesome! Thanks for everybody who came! Had fun making t-shirts, koozes, raceing, canoeing, and especialy playing with the eggs, plunger, and duct tape! Also special shout out so Chesne for making the night really funny! Saturday most people went home in the morning, but Emily and Chesne stayed, we had fun, we played with Seymore, the cats, and Mr. Turtle. We went out and played with horses for a few hours, we braided Chuck's mane in hunter/jumper braids, then we tackled Navajo! His mane had gotten full of burs, so I worked at that while the girls made his coat shine! He looks so pretty thanks to them! After that I worked with Chuck on in-hand jumping. After that we worked on jumping and lunging at the same time, and then moved to just lunging, he was having an off day, and for some reason just seamed to not want to stop, after a little while tho, he got it figured out! He got a rinse off after that, and by then it was dark, and time to take Chesne and Emily home. Sunday I slept in, and didn't do much till later in the afternoon when it got warmer. After it warmed up I started to do a video for you guys, and Navajo was being very disrespectful, like I said most problems are caused by people, before we got him he had been sitting in a pasture getting fat for almost 4 years. So I decided to do some ground work and lunging. He wasn't very responsive at first but he was getting the hang of it, then we moved on to lunging, he was NOT good at this, he started throwing a fit, rearing and striking out, he did this when you first asked him to move out, once he was moving your only problem was he pulled on you when he ran. I guess I was so focoused on him, because before I knew it my back gave out, and I was on the ground unable to move. I was glad Navajo decided he didn't want to run anymore after I went down, because that wouldn't have been good, he came over and sniffed me then went on to eating. Roni came out and asked what had happend and made sure I wasn't really badly hurt, then went and got Nick came to help me. I tried to stand once with his help, but I couldn't get up onto my feet because of the pain, so I layed there for a few more minutes, and we tried again, I had to walk with Nick suporting my weight because I couldn't stand. I only got 3 hrs of sleep, because the only way I could sleep was with my knees on the floor, and puting my upper body on the couch, so my knees didn't like that either. Yesterday I spent the day in the chair, and went to the Chiro. and I have to go back tomorrow. I also ordered lime green zebra print polo wraps for Chuck! Heres a pic!
So another thing I would like to say, this is MY blog, I will write about whatever I want. I love horses, and care for all horses well being, weather their mine or not, I don't like seeing horses in pain. If your sure youu are not doing anything wrong, when I talk about someone doing something wrong, then you shouldn't be worried, if you doubt yourself, then maybe you need to look again. I love my horses dearly, and treat them as horses, not people, so my words of the day to everybody is,
"THINK LIKE A HORSE!" Always keep in mind what your horse is going through, think about how your tack fits, what it does, don't use gimicks like tie downs, or martingales all these do is mask the riders errors, this is not a fix and it will only get worse, like using a harsher bit, any bit can be kind, even the long shanked bits, its not the bit that is kind in itself, its the rider, your bit is only as kind as the rider, so if the person yanks its going to hurt no matter how "nice" the bit is, only very experienced horsepeople should use what most people call "harsh" bits, like a spade bit it can communicate better than a snaffle, but, if used wrong, can cause major pain, and horrible consequences. So agian THINK LIKE A HORSE, know what your bit does to your horses mouth, if you don't know find out! You need to know how your bit makes your horse move, where it puts pressure. so remember THINK LIKE A HORSE! :)
