Hey everyone! I thought that I would just give you an update. Last time I blogged, I told you about how I would have to have surgery on my ankle. Anyways I had surgery yesterday. I went and checked in and then they took me to my room, gave me an ID bracelet and asked me a whole bunch of questions, then I got changed into a hospital gown, then they gave me a compression sock to help prevent blood clots in my other leg that I have to wear for the next week after that my main Dr came in and as he was talking to me the nurse and the nurse in training went to put in my IV at first they were going to do it in my left hand but they thought there was a valve there the nurse in training then proceded to try to put the IV in my right hand, she put it in, but there was a valve, so she kept trying to push it through and move it around and it was a little uncomfortable because they kept trying to just force it through, they saw it hurt me and appoligized and tried my right hand and it went right in. After awhile it was time for me to go to the OR, they wheeled me down the hallway and through some doors, as we went down there I got asked if I was missing school and I said I had missed school Monday and Tuesday for state FFA convention and one of the main surgeons said he used to be in FFA and he raised talapia (the fish) and grew onions. Then he started reciting the FFA creed, he got to about the second paragraph and then I don't remember anything after that. I woke up in recovery hearing a man and a lady talking saying my blood pressure was high and how much of what kind of medicine he was giving me to the lady (which turned out to be the nurse in training from earlier... I woke up a bit more and they asked me how I was feeling and how my pain was and then when I was pretty much awake they took me back to my room and they were suprised with how fast I was waking up. They gave me some toast and a pop and some water and gave me a pain pill. About an hour after I woke up I got to get ready to go home, first my mom dad and nick stopped and ate at Fazolies on the way home I tried to cover my head up and take a nap, we had to make a stop on the side of the road though as I got really dizzy and sick and about threw up... other than that I have been feeling great! I am a little tired but other than that I have had pretty much no side effects from the surgery. Here are some pics for you guys so I hope you are having a great week and I will try to blog soon!
