Anyways its been a crazy last couple of weeks..... Wednesday Nights I have to take the kids to conformation... I usually try to get most of my chemistry homework done on those nights as I take chemistry online because I don't have room in my schedule because I won't drop band spanish or my Ag classes..... so finding time to do homework is usually the first priority with 9 classes a day and one study hall every other day.... after that usually comes my FFA duties as an officer, which if Im honest I have kind of been neglecting.... I need to get caught up on points board, plus last week fruit sales ended so I spent 2 days trying to help get those processed the first day we were trying to get the money counted but we realized if we did that nothing would get ordered in time so the second day we just had to total the amount of each item needed, another officer and I spent almost 3 hours on it that day, and the next day a non officer member and I spent another hour and a half totaling the items...... along with meetings another thing we did is Jade tree festival, which is where you decorate a wreath and it goes and gets auctioned off and Roni and Chez and Wiese(my friend not the chicken) and I, are in a group and we didn't realize that they need to be done tomorrow.... so roni and I had to go shopping tonight we were going to do farm related stuff, but walmart didn't have any of the stuff we wanted, so we decided to do an American theme of red white and blue... so we have to do that too...... Next up is band, so I have been kinda going nuts with this and at the same time its my stress reliever... actual band class gets me really wound up and stressed and pep band gets me even worse.... in case you didn't know we have a new director and its kinda hard being the first chair in you section, worrying about going from 2nd and 3rd clarinet last year up to 1st this year, along with having to help all the underclassmen, and the fact that our band teacher doesn't know how to play clarinet at all, so I can't really ask for help.... I am playing in concert band and then I also play in pep band which I won't even talk about because its just to frustrating to even explain and I would likely type it then get mad and end the post there..... then its onto Jazz band.... Jazz isn't going to bad, but we have only had 2 practices so its hard to say and only about 1/3 of the band showed up to the second one, but because I am a clarinet I can't play it in the jazz band and had to learn a whole new instrument, I have never had an actual lesson on the instrument I was given a book and have taught myself, so I am quite proud of how I have handled it so far.... although I feel it is easier to pick up a second instrument after you have played any type of instument for awhile because once you get the basics of musicianship town its not to hard to transfer it over to another instrument, but you have to have almost 2 sides of your brain (or however many instruments you play) I have my clarinet side and my bari sax side but if I don't focus a little more on the bari side I accidently go back to clarinet fingerings...... but its almost like learning new notes on your original instrument because when you learned your first instrument your brain and muscle memory pick up new notes easier and its just like adding another note to your book.... I don't really think of notes as A B C D E F G H (just kidding on the H hahah) I think of them as fingerings like on clarinet Oh C is left 3 down or F# is back thumb plus your 2 side keys.... Thats why until around last spring, I couldn't tell you the name of a little more than half of the notes I played, I could tell you what the fingering was for that note but not its name..... I however it is easier on the sax's because they only have 1 octive on their fingering, then you hit the next up by adding the registure key which just pops the note up one octive, while clarinet you have to hit the registure key and play a whole different set of keys to go up an octive I can go from low F# to High F# with just the one registure key on the sax, while on clarinet I can play low C with my 3 top fingers and thumb, while a High C would be your thumb, 6 fingers one pinkey and the registure key, so honestly that helps quite a bit while switching to the sax its pretty easy to get it figured out. Also I was selected for an honor band thats in January, I am 3rd clarinet because it is a junior and senior honor band, and then there were others that were selected for the freshman/sophomore version of it, its 2 bands but they preform the same day.... and I also plan on trying out for all-state on the contra, which finally got back from Remeins Music, so here soon I should probably ask our BD to help pick one out...... so thats band for me.......
after that comes everything else... talking with friends, being with family, riding (which I have really neglected.... I think I have ridden maybe twice in the last 7 weeks?) cleaning the house for the holidays, running kids around from sports and such..... Oh I almost forgot work..... I work every other weekend, and even though its not that often my back has been really messed up the past few weeks, sometimes when I sit down it feels like somethings getting pinched and I have to sit crooked, or it pops while I'm walking, or my leg goes numb while sitting down, I feel like im just waiting for it to give out at times.... which has happend before and I usually can barley move for a day or two and can't sleep either, last time I threw it out, I slept on my knees.... I sat in our livingroom on my knees on the hardwood floor (ouch) and had my head and chest leaning on part of our couch because that was the only way I could lay that I could get the pain down to where I could actually fall asleep..... the last time I worked was really bad because we had to shoot circo (a vaccine), and strep and excede (other medications) and you have to pick up almost 20 pound piglets over and over and you hold the shot gun in your right hand so you have to pick them up one handed with your left hand and thats the side of my back that has been bugging me so 2 crates into that I was bitting my cheeks (what I do when Im ticked off or in pain/trying not to cry).... so that day really sucked..... anyways you guys are probably tired of hearing about all my personal problems so Hey those of you who skipped to the horse stuff can start reading now if you want to!
This is a little video, this was our first snow of the year and I figured we should have a little fun with it!
